Portfolio - Future

How do you feel about your future?
- I feel like my future will not be the brightest but I will go far. I know I can do anything because I have gotten this far. Because I've gone the farthest in my family it shows that I can go farther.
What are your goals for the future?
-My goals for the future are not yet planned for me but I do know that I will make it through high school and I will go to college if I tried. I do have one goal to make it far in life and do anything that can help and be worth going for.
You may write about many goals, but you MUST write about school and your career plan.
-I don't have a career that I want to go for or a school that I want to go to, For now I just know I want to get good grades all 4 years.
How have your previous experiences prepared you to reach each of these goals?
-Because I made it through middle school with somewhat good grades I know I can make it through high school with good grades. Anyone can if they decided to.
What do you need to continue to work on in order to achieve each of your goals?
-I need to work on less worrying on out of school thing rather than school projects and essays. I also need to work on having time for doing homework.
Who will help you to achieve your goals?
-Anyone I ask to help me. Any adults and even any of people around me.
Do you genuinely believe you will achieve your goals? Why or why not?
-I don't I will achieve my goals because of other experience. I also don't believe I will because I don't like planning for things and going for them because I know it won't work.

Romeo & Juliet - Love at First Sight

I definitely  not believe in love at first sight. I don't believe in love at first sight because I have never experienced it , not that it is real, but I also don't believe in it because I don't think someone can just randomly fall in love with someone in just one sight.  Romeo and Juliet's love is not sincere because Romeo had just said that he wanted someone else and now all of the sudden he see's Juliet and he falls in love. I do not believe in love at first, I don't know why but I don't.

Personal Changes Blog Paragraph

At the beginning of my freshman year, I was not mean, I was a person who worried about different things like grades, drama and family drama. I was nice  and friendly I wanted to be equal with everyone. Because I am a freshman, in the beginning I thought "nothing can happen to me, no one would want to hurt someone as little as me." Turns out I was wrong. When you hit high school everything changes. It doesn't matter whether others are big or little. Anything can happen. Now I don't care what anybody thinks about me. I am myself. I stick to me, myself and I. I only have certain friends and even then I don't really consider them my "friends" anymore. Anyone can turn right around and do something that can hurt others forever. Now I am mean and unlikely to open up to just anyone, because I learned and still am. I care about grades but not drama. Sometimes I just wish it can walk right by me, but it seems like I am always in the way. But this is just my freshman year... I can't wait to see what happen in three years.

Academic Language Week 37 - Unhealthy Meal Choices

The fast food industry should not be allowed to target kids with unhealthy meal choices. One reason is because it leads to child obesity and children can even get diabetes. Fast food companies use many of the SIMILAR campaigns such as toys and discounts. Many of the companies share the same THEORY that the kids don't know what they are getting fed anyway, so by giving them a toy they are gonna want it even more. This really makes it hard on the kids because they don't know what they are consuming, but they are more interested in the toy. Unfortunately, certain SECTIONS of the community can only eat at fast food restaurants because they're poor. You have to look at it this way to really understand. Would you rather be obese, tired, and hungry? Or, would you like to be a healthy weight, energetic, and well fed? If you wanna be healthy and feel good, why would you wanna put your child through that? Targeting kids with unhealthy meal choices is terrible and unfair to the kids.

Academic Language Week 35 - Sweatshops

Are sweatshops a violation of people's human rights? Words: -apply -contract -labor
Yes, sweatshop are a violation of people's human right because people have the right to be treated right when they are working for their own money. Applying for a a sweatshop should be required to let people know in contracts what they are heading for. For example if someone is signing a contract, to apply for a job they should be warned for not being able to use the bathroom when needed, or not getting paid sufficient money also be warned from doing major labor. Sweatshops are a violation of people's rights also because no should be treated badly just to make others who want to pay less happy. In conclusion, sweatshops are a violation of human right's because I wouldn't want to be in a position where I work hard for less.

Academic Update Blog Paragraph

B: Share your academic goals for the remaining seven weeks of school and explain how you will achieve them.
My academic goals for the remaining seven weeks are to finish of with at least A's and B's. That way I don't have to go to summer school. My goals are to turn in every new assignment correct and on time. So far its really not working out but I'm trying. I don't want to go to summer school because I have had enough of school. Another reason why I don't want to go to summer school is because I don't want to have to wake up early in the morning to go to school again for another 6 weeks in the hot. I want to stay away from here as much as possible for the summer so I have something to do off campus. My goal is to end school with a 3.0 or higher, which means no summer school and no staying here having to wake up early in the morning and then nothing to look forward to for 6 weeks.

Academic Language Week 33 - American Students

Cell phones should not be allowed in schools because there is students that don't know how to control themselves that same second they feel or hear their phone ring/vibrate. Another reason is because kids try to persuade their teachers to let them use their phones which distracts them from doing their work in class and also gets them a bad grade. Although most teachers critique that every message is bad, when some can be emergencies. Contrasting different schools, some have different rules than others, but I think we should prevent kids from using cellphones in class if they want a good grade. In conclusion, I think cell phones should not be allowed in schools because it distracts kids from their work.
